A senior lecturer position in photography and visual culture at LUCA School of Arts, Campus Genk. The role combines 50% research and 50% teaching within the Photography programme and Future Scenarios team. The researcher will develop forward-looking research practice investigating how images shape meaning, visibility, representation and public imagination, with attention to how visual practices can question, shift or expand dominant ways of seeing and representing. Teaching includes strengthening the research line within the Photography programme, guiding master students intensively on thesis and projects, and designing education that exposes students to diverse artistic and theoretical perspectives including non-Western, indigenous, diasporic and marginalized voices. The position also includes service responsibilities, professional development and international networking.
Individuals with a doctorate in photography, visual culture, or related field who can teach in Dutch (C1) or English (B1).
